6. ENDINGS
=================================================================
Okay, so you've gotten past all those disasters (natural and man-made) and made several life-altering statements and decisions. What will become of you and the friends you've made during the course of your three-day struggle to escape from Central Island?
This section will cover all the endings (good, bad, counted or otherwise) and details for starting new game plus. In order for the all the credits to register in the system checklist, you have to finish the game completely and restart from the same data up to the end every time.
Do not click the break link/scroll down any further if you don't want the final scenes spoiled for you!!
===6.1 GOOD ENDING, SAKI ARC===
ENDING CREDIT COUNT: 2 (Naoki x 1, Rina x 1)SYMBOL ITEM: Saki's Handkerchief.
REQUIREMENTS: Fully trigger Saki Flag, complete with confirmation scene at Gloria Building Parking Lot. Choose "Reach for Ayami with all your might!" at the Hazuki Development Corp. Building Rooftop.
The sun is beginning to set. You and Ayami will emerge from the water on a wooden plank floating along one of the now-sunken regions of Central Island. You'll regain consciousness first, and Ayami will come to as well. Both of you have survived the seemingly fatal drop.
A rescue chopper will be flying about. Saki is in it, desperately trying to locate you. She sees a flash on the surface of the water.
It's the handkerchief Saki gave you, which somehow fell out of your pocket and is stuck on the driftwood's nail, serving as a beacon to where you and Ayami are. Saki cries tears of joy as you wave to her. The chopper eases down close to the driftwood as the scene fades out. You have successfully escaped the ill-fated Central Island.
Weeks later, you receive a text message from Saki. She has written a new song and credits her latest creation to all the experiences she shared with you on the island, both good and bad. Saki will also be appearing in a concert and insists that you come to see her perform.
*As Naoki, she wants to tell you something important but would prefer to do it in person, possibly at the concert.
*As Rina, Saki will tell you that she met up with her ex and the latter is happy that she decided to continue her dream of being a singer.
(If you picked the "SAKI, I LOVE YOU!" dialogue option before the final disaster sequence, a P.S. will come up:)
*As Naoki, Saki will ask you if she could take that line seriously... ^_~
*As Rina, she'll say that she loves you back, but not in THAT way.
===6.2 GOOD ENDING, AYAMI ARC===
ENDING CREDIT COUNT: 2 (Naoki x 1, Rina x 1) SYMBOL ITEM: Ayami's Pendant, Ayami's Handkerchief.
REQUIREMENTS: Fully trigger Ayami Flag, complete with confirmation scene at Gloria Building Parking Lot. Choose "Reach for Ayami with all your might!" at the Hazuki Development Corp. Building Rooftop.
Night has fallen. You and Ayami will emerge from the water on a wooden plank floating along one of the now-sunken regions of Central Island. Ayami will wake up first, and she'll rouse you afterwards. Both of you have survived the seemingly fatal drop.
A rescue boat appears. As it circles the area, a flash can be seen on the surface of the water. It's the handkerchief Ayami gave you, which somehow fell out of your pocket and is stuck on the driftwood's nail, serving as a beacon to where you two are. As the boat approaches, you and Ayami affectionately pull your faces close together, parting only to wave at the boat. You have successfully escaped the ill-fated Central Island.
A year later, you receive a letter from Ayami. With Hikawa's help, she was able to file a testimony for the case against the Hazuki Development Corporation. They have since left the Hazuki family and started living their own separate lives. At present, Ayami is working at a nearby cafeteria.
She will invite you to come over to her place and treat you to a home-cooked meal despite initially admitting that she still has quite a ways to go at getting better in the culinary arts department... urp... O.o

A rescue chopper will be flying about. Saki is in it, desperately trying to locate you.
Unfortunately, she will be unsuccessful. The chopper flies past the driftwood. You and Ayami did not survive the fall and your bodies were never found.
One year later, a certain struggling singer/songwriter makes a blog post. She could not forget about a special person who is no longer with her, but still serves as her musical inspiration. She could see the nostalgic reactions of the people who hear her songs when she performs on the street, reflecting her own feelings.
She ends the post by saying she has to be up early tomorrow for her part-time job, bidding the readers good night.

===6.7 ENDING NUMBER 9?===
For those of you who have gotten 8 endings and are looking for the 9th one, GIVE UP. Irem sent out a public letter of apology months after ZZT3's release stating that the bad ending in the Aoi Residential Area was supposed to count. Unfortunately, it never did due to an overlooked program aspect that wasn't adjusted before the game was commercially circulated.UPDATE: Granzella's re-release of ZZT3 for the Japanese PSN (might be the same for the Asian version as well, but I need confirmation on this) came with a bug fix. Said ending can count for that one.
===6.8 NEW GAME PLUS===
After the credits roll, the game will ask you if you want to save clear data. This will put the game back at the beginning so you can choose a different character to play as. Non-consumable items and compasses obtained will carry over (obviously, clothes and accessories for Rina cannot be used by Naoki and vice-versa), and can be availed as soon as you trigger the backpack event on the first scene.Oddly enough, some items either show up again or are exempted from this carryover rule:
*All Readable Items: None of them carry over, and have to be collected the same way as before.
*Empty Flashlight: Will still appear in Hotel High Urban even if you've assembled the Makeshift Light Helmet. If obtained again, it will not carry over for subsequent playthroughs.
